Ian Wilson is the former Curator of North Down Museum, Bangor. Previous to taking up that post he taught English and History at Coleraine Academical Institution. His particular research interest is Irish maritime history and he is the author of several books on shipwrecks, as well as collections of vintage photographs of ports and harbours. He is currently the Chairman of the Trustees of the Northern Ireland War Memorial, and also chairs Bangor Historical Society.
